Labster has made it easier to set up your assignments on LMS. With our new multi-select assignment tool for LTI 1.3, instructors and course creators can now add multiple simulations to their LMS courses at once. Think of it as adding items to a shopping cart -- gone are the days of adding each Labster simulation to your LMS courses one by one.
Whether your course uses 3 or 15 virtual labs, this feature allows you to select each one and then add them to your LMS course all at once in one seamless action.
We heard your feedback that the LMS course setup process can be tedious and repetitive, so we designed this feature to save time for educators and course creators. This is especially true for those managing multiple courses or using a large number of simulations. Previously, adding each simulation involved multiple steps and repeated actions—opening the LMS course, locating each lab in the content picker, and adding them one by one. Now, selecting multiple simulations at once creates a streamlined, frictionless experience.
The new multi-add functionality is currently available to users of the LTI 1.3 integration, benefiting instructors using platforms like Blackboard, D2L/Brightspace, Moodle, and Schoology, where multi-add works within the standard assignment creation flow. In Canvas, multi-add is only supported within the Course Module flow rather than the standard assignment creation. Course Manager Direct, Google Classroom, and Canvas API users will experience no change, as bulk-add has already been available on these platforms.
Initial feedback from faculty and staff has focused on the improved efficiency and ease of use, as well as the reduced time spent on course setup. As we continue to gather feedback, our team is working on further usability updates, including the option to remove selected simulations and support for adding both the Labster Dashboard and simulations in a single action. For any questions about how to use this feature, your LMS integration, or anything else, please reach out to your Customer Success Manager or contact support@labster.com.
