
Catherine Gasse
Catherine’s leadership centers on empowering others to do their best work, creating an environment where talent can flourish and innovation can take root. Known for rolling up her sleeves alongside her team, Catherine brings many years of experience in building and transforming the people and talent functions for both large and small technology companies.
Previously, Catherine served as CPO at Onapsis, a cybersecurity software company, and was Head of HR for Vistaprint, a publicly-held e-commerce company. Catherine is a graduate of Boston College, where she earned a degree in sociology.

Bjørn Toft Madsen
Bjorn oversees Labster’s Product Management and Software Engineering teams. Before joining Labster, he served as EF’s EVP Product for their Global Education Platform, as Senior Technical Director for King, and as CTO at two Xbox game studios. He was instrumental in three Xbox hardware launches and created the original Xbox Avatar System.
Recently, Bjorn rolled out a language learning service for millions of Brazilian state school students and was recognized as Amazon AWS’s first Education Champion outside the United States.

Shawn Boom
Shawn has spent his career at the intersection of technology and education, where innovative solutions are transforming the way we learn. Before joining Labster, Shawn served as CEO and Executive Chairman at Vanco, a vertically integrated fintech and SaaS provider for the K-12 and non-profit sectors. As Global VP at Blackboard, now part of Anthology, he collaborated with educators and administrators to tackle critical challenges such as accessibility, equity, learner engagement, and institutional strategy.
Shawn holds a degree in physiology from the University of Wisconsin at La Crosse.

Phil Salopek
Phil has more than 30 years of financial management, leadership, and corporate strategy for multinational companies. Prior to Labster, Phil helped scale hyper-growth software companies as CFO at Quorum, Bricata, BroadSoft and AXENT, and was Founder-CEO of a sales enablement software company.
A teacher at heart, Phil’s commitment to learning is reflected in his tenures on the James Madison University College of Business Board of Advisors and the Maryland Board for the Future Business Leaders of America. Phil holds a degree in business administration (finance) from James Madison University.

Morten Andersen
Morten is responsible for setting the long-term strategy, resource planning, and cross-functional collaboration that ensures continued growth of UbiSim. He has held roles as strategy consultant, venture investment partner and business development lead across Denmark, the UK and the US. Through his past roles investing in gaming and edtech companies for the LEGO Group, Morten developed a strong belief in the power and efficacy of high-engagement, high-immersion educational tools.
Morten holds an MBA and previously taught primary and secondary school in China and Denmark.

Marc Batchelor
Marc’s focus is on empowering the UbiSim and Labster team with the knowledge and expertise to be valued partners to their customers. Previously at Wolters Kluwer and Cengage, he has more than 30 years of revenue leadership experience working closely with Nursing Leadership and Educators to help them adopt technology that supports transition to practice goals. He has dedicated his career to connecting educators with resources that help them prepare students to make a positive impact in science and healthcare.
Marc holds a degree in Economics from Florida State University.

Abby Chau
Abby is committed to optimizing the customer experience to ensure that educational institutions leverage the full potential of immersive learning. Previously, she was Global Managing Sr. Director for K-12 and Faith at Blackbaud. Abby is passionate about driving student success and empowering academic institutions to achieve their missions.
A proud graduate of the University of Vermont with a double major in Dietetics and Nutrition, Abby has experienced firsthand that education can open doors to meaningful opportunities.

Christina Fleming
Christina has dedicated her career to empowering educators and educational institutions through innovative technology. Known for her empathetic and transparent leadership style, she has a history of building collaborative and impactful teams. Christina previously served as CMO at Blackboard, now Anthology. During her 13-year tenure there, she also served as VP of Blackboard K-12 and as VP of Higher Ed Marketing and Enrollment Services.
A lifelong learner herself, Christina holds an MBA from The College of William & Mary and a bachelor's degree in business from The University of Notre Dame.
